Solid Polyethylene Microspheres:

(polymer spheres, balls, beads, microbeads, microparticles)

Cospheric specializes in development and manufacturing of solid polyethylene microspheres. Polyethylene spherical microparticles can be customized for microsphere diameter from 10um to 1000um (1mm), as well as to be opaque, colored, fluorescent, triboelectric (electrostatic) charged positive or negative. Black microspheres can be manufactured with magnetic or static-dissipative properties. Microspheres in any color can be made neutrally buoyant in water with specific gravity of 1g/cc. The density can be adjusted to create microspheres neutrally buoyant in other media.

Yellow Microspheres
Size and Form: 
Solid polymer spheres in dry powder form. 
Particle sizes from 10 micron to 3mm (3000 micron).
Refer to sizes for USA standard sieves (ASTM E11) for ranges of particle sizes.

Sphericity:
Polyethylene spheres are screened to prevent any dust, debris, and non-spherical microparticles.
High quality identical polymer spheres with excellent uniformity.

Orange Opaque Polyethylene MicrospheresOpacity: 
Clear microspheres are translucent (un-pigmented) polyethylene.
Opaque microspheres are truly opaque.
Opaque spheres will not transmit light even in a 50um monolayer.
The only truly opaque microspheres on the market.

Density: 
0.96 - 1.3 g/cc (depends on the formulation). 
1g/cc microspheres - neutrally buoyant in water.

Color Matched Microspheres
Colors:
 
We stock samples of clear microspheres, white polyethylene spheres, black magnetic microspheres, colored microspheres, UV fluorescent spheres.
Custom color microspheres by request.

Color Matching: We can color match polymer microspheres to any color, including skin-color micropsheres as shown. Colour-matched microspheres can be opaque and UV fluorescent as needed, and in any diameter from 10micron on up to 3000micron (3mm).


Half-coated Magnetic Beads
Charge/Magnetic Properties:
Custom polymer microspheres can be  made positively or negatively charged. Positive or negative charge is internal to each microsphere and permanent. It will not dissipate over time and can not be grounded.

Black microspheres can be made magnetic or static-dissipative. Black magnetic coating on a portion of the microsphere creates functionalized hemispheres (magnetic half-shells) that enable manipulation of microspheres with magnetic field.

 
Pink Metal Coated Glass MicrospheresCoatings: Full or partial coatings on polymer microspheres offer additional colors, functionalities, triboelectric charge, surface and magnetic properties.  Achieve bipolar and bichromal microspheres that orient themselves to align in electric field and show visual response to stimuli.

Manufacturing Process:
No solvents or volatiles are used.
Pigments and additives can be incorporated as needed.
Polyethylene microsphere manufacturing process is economical and scalable to large volumes.
